daylight factory

2014, in situ installation; neon lights from the Crédac Arts Centre (former Manufacture des Œillets), slide projector /

All the neon lights that used to illuminate the exhibition rooms at the Crédac (arts centre located within an old factory, built in 1913 following the “Daylight Factories” American architectural style) were removed and carefully placed against a wall facing a projector of empty slides. The light of the projector would light the dark neon lights, lighting up the rest of the room during the night, and disappearing in the morning with the first light of the day. The projector’s mechanical sound provided the exhibition with its rhythm.

Work made for the exhibition l’espace épisodique (Centre d’art contemporain Le Crédac, 2014).
